Professional Biography

Rebecca achieved her Law LLB Honours Degree from Liverpool Hope University in 2018. She started off her career in the Personal Injury sector at another firm, whilst studying part time for her Legal Practice Course at BPP University before being offered a training contract in Summer 2020. Rebecca officially qualified as a Solicitor in May 2022 before retraining into Court of Protection, Property and Affairs in July 2022.

Rebecca’s background in Personal Injury equipped her with a unique understanding of the claims process and the journey to resolution. She has supported a range of claims, from straightforward to complex, high-value cases, throughout the litigation process.

Her hands-on experience extends to managing deputy files and personal injury trusts. Since joining Simpson Millar in September 2023, Rebecca has been a vital support assisting Court-appointed Deputies in managing their Deputyship caseloads. Her day-to-day role includes conducting annual client visits, reviewing benefits, and collaborating with a range of professionals, such as social workers, case managers, investment advisors, accountants, estate agents, architects, surveyors, and medical experts. She also manages Trust files, which are established to manage compensation received from Personal Injury claims. In this capacity, Rebecca conducts annual meetings with clients and investment advisors to ensure that the management and allocation of compensation through these Trusts are effectively supporting clients’ current and future financial needs. This involves making sure budgets and regular payments from the trust are structured to both improve the clients' quality of life and ensure the financial longevity of the funds.

In overseeing both deputyship and Personal Injury Trusts, Rebecca guarantees the best possible management of her clients' financial assets compared to others in the market. She analyses investment reports and crafts budgets that fulfil two main objectives, which are maintaining her clients’ financial resources over time and ensuring they have access to necessary therapies and support. Rebecca plays a key role in the direct hiring of support workers, overseeing everything from their initial recruitment to coordinating their roles in collaboration with Case Managers.
