Kimberley Holmes

Kimberley Holmes is a Paralegal within our Military department, based in our London office.

Professional Biography

Kimberley completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a 2:1 at Swansea University in 2020. During her time in Swansea, Kimberley was actively involved in the University's pro bono Law Clinic and Bar Society. She gained practical experience by shadowing a Criminal Barrister at Angel Chambers within Crown Court and HMP Swansea. Kimberley also observed a Solicitor from another firm in Magistrates' Court and a Bailiffs Sergeant performing his duties in custody.

She previously represented undergraduates at the Junior Lawyers of South Wales Annual Committee alongside Senior Lawyers across Wales and served as a Wellbeing Advocate for the Swansea Junior Lawyers Division Society, promoting networking and charity work.

Kimberley's early legal roles included work on the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal in Cardiff. She has since worked in a law firm in Surrey, handling various Personal Injury matters on the MOJ Portal, including Employer’s Liability, Public Liability, Road Traffic Accidents and holiday abroad claims. She has also handled Motor Insurers Bureau Claims and some Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims.

In her current role at Simpson Millar, Kimberley assists our Military Solicitor, Patrick Nelly with his caseload of bullying and harassment, assault, and Personal Injury Claims primarily against the Ministry of Defence. This role has equipped her with a solid understanding of the complex nature of litigation proceedings up to trial.
