Katie Holland

Katie is a Litigation Executive in our Medical Negligence department at Simpson Millar, based in Manchester.

Professional Biography

Katie graduated from the University of Chester in 2011 with a 2:1 in LLB Law with Criminology (Hons).

In her day-to-day role, Katie manages her own caseload of medical negligence claims and assists senior solicitors, broadening her knowledge and experience in handling complex medical negligence cases. Her role involves working closely with paralegals, supporting their training and development in Clinical Negligence.

Before joining the Clinical Negligence team at Simpson Millar in March 2023, Katie had an extensive 11-year career in Claimant Road Traffic Accidents. This included roles as a fee earner and operations manager, where she led her own team of fee earners. She specialised in fast-track Road Traffic Accidents litigation for 7 years, focusing particularly on complex motorcycle injuries. Katie is confident in issuing and serving proceedings, and running cases to trial, having issued and settled over 300 of her own Road Traffic Accidents and Personal Injury cases. Prior to Simpson Millar, Katie briefly worked for the ICO as a criminal investigations officer, which involved executing search warrants and interviewing suspects for alleged data protection offences. Her interest in criminal law also led her to gain experience with the CPS and a criminal defence firm during her university years, where she participated in court proceedings as part of the legal team.
