Medical Negligence Administrative Team Leader

Joe has been at the Simpson Millar Head Office in Leeds for over 12 years. He started out down in the post room archiving closed files and sorting, scanning and distributing incoming and outgoing mail. But with two diplomas under his belt, one in Team Leadership and the other in Team Management, Joe quickly worked his way up the company and now heads up the administration side of things for the Medical Negligence team.
His day-to-day role is centred around supporting the solicitors within the Medical Negligence team to get through their caseloads as efficiently and effectively as possible. This largely involves assigning out members of his team to individual Medical Negligence solicitors, so that they can provide the best administrative support where and when it’s needed.
But Joe also spends his time pulling together information for the medical experts that work on our cases, putting together instructions for solicitors going to counsel and court and training up new team members.
Joe was born and bred in the Leeds / Wakefield area and, as a result, is a die-hard Leeds United fan. On a weekend, you’ll often find Joe down at the Elland Road football ground, cheering on ‘The Peacocks’ in true Yorkshire style.
But he’s not just a keen football supporter. Joe also loves playing the game himself and regularly plays for his local team “Robin Hood Athletic”, who are in the West Yorkshire Premier League.
On top of his passion for football, Joe loves nothing more than spending quality time with his family and two children.
