Barts Health NHS Trust Apologises After Failures in Care Lead to Stillbirth of Baby Girl
Barts Health NHS Trust has apologised after critical failures in care at the Royal London Hospital led to the preventable stillbirth of a baby girl in March 2022. An HSIB investigation found delays in fetal monitoring, inadequate risk assessments, and staffing shortages contributed to the tragedy. The Trust admitted negligence but HC, the baby’s mother, remains unconvinced real change has been made. With support from Simpson Millar’s medical law team, she seeks accountability and highlights the urgent need for improved maternity care, especially for minority women.
